Beijing
Beijing, capital of the Peoples Repuplic of China, has a population of 11.2 million, and a history of more than 3,000 years. In two days in 2000 and four days in 2006 we visited the most attractive scenic wonders including the Tiananmen Square, Palace Museum, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Food-Night Market, the Yonghe Lamasery, and the Great Wall.
In the older part of city we found a small, but nice, old style hotel, which we warmly recommend (Lu Song Yuan).

Tian'anmen Place, covering 44,000mē, is the largest sqare in the world.
Palace Museum (Forbidden City) was built between 1406 and 1420.

The Summer Palace is an outstanding expression of the creative art of Chinese landscape garden design, incorporating the works of humankind and nature in a harmonious whole.
Temple of Heaven, Hall of prayer for good harvest
Night Market
Yonge Lamasery is the most handsome and impressive Buddhist temple in the city. It even has a subway station close by. One of the most prominent features of the temple is a huge, 23 meter tall Maitreya Buddha, carved from the trunk of a white sandalwood tree. Photos are forbidden because the temple is still in use today.

Great Wall, Mutiany is not as crowded as Badaling, and has cable cars to help you reach the top. You can walk from one cable car station to another.
